We are a team of senior specialists with proven experience in the Iberian market. We have intuitive, high-impact methodologies and tools, distinctive skills and an unwavering determination to create value.

“Change just for the sake of change” doesn’t really change anything. Francisco Gomes Viana

Managing Partner

Francisco Gomes Viana was a C-Level Executive of Galp for 18 years, a company where he served as CFO of Downstream Oil (Industrial & Commercial). He was president of Galp Açores, Galp Madeira and Gasinsular, and took up Management and Board of Directors positions at several other companies. In 2019, the Kaizen Programme of Galp’s Iberian Retail business unit was distinguished with the first prize of the Kaizen Global Awards, among hundreds of international applications from several continents.

With a proven track record in consultancy, change management and value creation, Francisco’s objective at TOWS & TOOLS is to extend to SMEs the “Changing for the Better” services and methodologies, which until now were only available to larger businesses.

Francisco is a great lover of art, including the art of cooking, and creates wines as a hobby. He started practicing yoga in the last millennium.

Paulo Costa Pedro has a career of more than 30 years in the financial industry, having held management positions in Portugal and internationally, on management positions and in Board of Directors, of banks, investment companies, asset management companies and securities brokers. He held operations management and advisory roles at Banco Central Hispano and Banco Mello de Investimentos, and was a founding partner and executive director of several companies, including IBCO, an asset management company affiliated with AIG–American International Group, BCCO–Business Consulting, and MbyO, a financial consulting company.

Professional career dedicated to Business Development and Operations Management.

Paulo practices tennis and spearfishing, an activity that he fell in love with at the age of fourteen.

Gonzalo de la Iglesia has dedicated a large part of his professional life to the management and financial control business areas, having extensive experience as a C-Level Executive and member of the Management Committee in multinational companies of Portuguese origin.

With extensive experience in planning and coordinating strategic projects, aimed at value creation, he believes that “what is not measured, cannot be improved” (Peter Drucker), whereby companies must find the information and tools required for solid business decision making.

At TOWS & TOOLS he intends to put his expertise in management control processes, business planning, balanced scorecard, optimization and cost management and reporting systems at the service of customers.

Gonzalo believes that he is a good cook and likes to sit around with friends enjoying his culinary creations accompanied by a good red wine.

Over 30 years of experience in management, technology consulting and business management. He was a Partner at Accenture, where he started his professional career and worked for 22 years. During his time at Accenture, he led several strategic, operational and technological definition and transformation projects, having collaborated extensively with several leading Portuguese companies and large international companies in the Energy, Utilities, Natural Resources and Transport industries, among others.

He subsequently went into business management, and was an executive director in several companies in the Logistics and Healthcare sectors, in Portugal and abroad.

His spare time is devoted to his passion, horses, in which he promotes the breeding of Lusitano Thoroughbreds on a limited scale.

António Quintino has accumulated extensive professional experience during his career at Galp’s Refining and Distribution business unit (Portugal, Spain and Africa), first leading the Information Systems department, for ten years, and since 2012, leading the Credit and Risk Management department.

In the academic field, António Quintino is, since 2011, a professor at the Instituto Superior Técnico, in Lisbon, where he also graduated and obtained his master’s and doctor’s degrees. He currently teaches Operational Research, Project in Energy Management, Decision Support Models and Risk Management, having in the past taught Project Evaluation and Financial Engineering.

With António, TOWS & TOOLS will be able to match the best of the academic and professional worlds, namely in the fields of design and implementation of credit management systems and optimization, decision and risk models, with emphasis on the structuring of mitigation actions.

António regularly practices running and cycling to keep in shape, and sailing to improve his focus.

Passionate about painting and music, he enjoys exploring less known hiking trails.

Professional career centred in leading Marketing Teams of several Galp business units at national and Iberian level, in B2C and B2B (Natural Gas, Electricity, LPG and downstream-oil), in executive management of companies in the energy sector – Ao Sol (solar panels production and marketing) and ADENE (National Energy Agency) – as well as in the Customer Experience (CX) area.

As a consultant with expertise in Marketing and Communication, he has been involved in projects in the Information Systems, Media, Services, Training, Audiovisual, Food and Hotel industries, contributing with skills in Marketing Planning, Communication, Digital Marketing, Market Research, Branding, Pricing and Customer Experience.

In his spare time, he (compulsively) reads the classics of literature, swims and scuba-dives. Architecture and interior decoration are his other great passions.

Consolidated professional career in the banking industry, in corporate and private banking, from company valuation to asset advisory. In both areas, she led several sales teams.

She was also an Investor Advisor at a multinational real estate fund manager.

Certified by the Portuguese Institute of Corporate Governance with the Advanced Programme for Non-Executive Directors, in addition to the skills acquired in monitoring Family-offices.

She loves the arts and has studied music, and can’t do without playing the piano and reading. She is passionate about education and volunteering with children.

Professional career in the retail business of Sonae and in Daymon Worldwide, a consultancy, having been responsible for managing business areas, leading strategic transformation projects, performance optimisation, growth acceleration and e-commerce.

As a professional at Sonae, he held several positions in the commercial, information systems, planning and management control, business development, e-commerce, and marketing areas, as well as being an advisor to the executive committee.

A convert to paddle tennis, he loves skiing and never misses an opportunity to travel and discover new cultures.

Professional career of more than 30 years in Galp’s B2C and B2B businesses. Responsible for the management of Retail operations of the network of service stations in Portugal (mainland and islands), in the areas of Network Planning and Asset Management. Member of the Board of Directors of Galp Madeira, Galp Açores and Gasinsular.

He was responsible for the implementation of the Continuous Improvement project in the B2C business. To TOWS & TOOLS, he brings his experience and know-how in the commercial and sales areas, and in asset optimisation processes, using the best practices of the Lean methodology.

He is a member of the Board of Casa São Francisco de Assis de Lisboa, on an unpaid voluntary basis.

He plays tennis, paddle tennis and hikes. He enjoys cooking for friends and produces wine in the Douro valley region.
